Why it is restricted

Presenting an update as necessary when it merely enhances functionality is blacklisted. So is omitting that an update will degrade performance.

Say this instead

Separate the two: "Security update (recommended)" and "Feature update (optional) — adds X, may increase battery use."

Legal basis

Directive 2005/29/EC, Annex I point 23e, inserted by Directive 2024/825 (presenting an update as necessary when it only adds features)
